Privacy Policy

This explains what Founderland (founderland.xyz) collects, why, and what we do with it. We keep it to what the site needs to work.
What we collect
- What you publish. When you claim a region, we store the company name, tagline, description, website, brand color and image you submit, and where you placed the image. This is public: it's shown on the globe for everyone to see.
- Payments. Checkout is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details and email; we never see or store your card number. We keep a reference to the Stripe payment so we can confirm and, where applicable, refund it. Stripe's use of your data is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
- Anonymous visitor IDs. To count clicks fairly, stop spam and limit abuse of reports and checkout, we compute a one-way hash of your IP address. We store the hash, never the IP itself, and these records are deleted automatically after about a day (click de-duplication uses a 12-hour window).
- Reports. If you report a listing, we store the reason, any details you write, and the anonymous ID above.
- Hosting logs. Our host (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, which can include IP addresses, for security and reliability.
Cookies and tracking
We don't use advertising or analytics trackers, and we don't set cookies for regular visitors. The only cookie is a sign-in cookie for site administrators.
How we use it
To display placements, process and refund payments, count clicks, prevent fraud and abuse, review reported content, and respond to you. We don't sell personal information.
Who we share it with
Service providers that run the site for us: Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting) and our database provider. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Listings, including past owners of a region, are kept as part of the region's history. Payment records are kept as long as needed for accounting and legal obligations. Anonymous visitor IDs expire after about a day.
Your choices
You can ask us to remove your listing's content or delete information we hold about you by emailing hello@founderland.xyz. Removing a listing doesn't entitle you to a refund. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct or delete your data; contact us to use them.
Children
Founderland is for businesses and isn't directed at children under 16.
Changes
We'll update the date at the top when this policy changes.
