Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Founderland (founderland.xyz) and any purchase you make on it. By using the site or buying a placement, you agree to them. If you're buying for a company, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.

1. What you're buying

When you claim or take over a region (a country, a US state, or an African region) you buy a display placement: the right to have your image, company name, tagline, description and link shown on that region of the Founderland globe, until someone else takes it over or it's removed under these terms.

• You are not buying land, territory, property, or any real-world right, title or claim of any kind. The placement exists only on this website.
• Map borders and region names are for illustration only and don't represent any political position on disputed territories.
• The placement is a personal, non-transferable license. It isn't an investment and has no resale value.

2. Prices and takeovers

• The first claim of a region costs $1. Each takeover after that costs $5 more than the one before ($5, $10, $15…).
• Anyone can take over your region at any time by paying the next price. There's no minimum time you keep a placement. Being taken over does not entitle you to a refund.
• The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. If someone else buys the same region at the same moment and your payment arrives second, your purchase is cancelled and fully refunded automatically.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. All prices are in US dollars.

3. Protection

• Anyone can buy protection for a region's current listing at $5 per day. While protected, the region can't be taken over. When protection ends, the region can be taken over again at its normal next price.
• A region can have at most 30 days of protection remaining at a time. Protection can be extended within that limit.
• Protection belongs to the listing it was bought for. If that listing is removed under these terms, its protection ends and is not refunded.
• If a region is taken over, or becomes protected, while you are paying for a takeover or for protection, your payment is cancelled and fully refunded automatically.

4. Refunds

All sales, including protection, are final, except: (a) the automatic refunds described above; (b) where we choose to refund at our discretion; and (c) where the law requires otherwise. Listings removed for breaking the content rules are not refunded.

5. Content rules

You're responsible for everything you upload and link to. It must not:

• be illegal, or infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
• be sexually explicit, hateful, harassing, violent, or promote self-harm;
• impersonate another person or company, or falsely imply an endorsement;
• link to malware, phishing, scams, or anything deceptive;
• promote illegal goods or services.

By uploading, you confirm you own or have permission to use the image and text, and you give Founderland a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, resize, crop and reproduce it on the site and in screenshots or promotion of the site, for as long as it's shown and in archives of past owners.

6. Moderation

Anyone can report a listing. We may remove any listing, at any time and at our sole discretion, including if we believe it breaks these rules or creates legal risk. When a listing is removed, the region goes back to its previous visible owner or becomes open again; the price ladder continues from where it was.

7. Clicks and traffic

Click counts are approximate. We filter repeat clicks and known bots, but we don't guarantee any amount of traffic, visibility, clicks or business results from a placement.

8. The service

Founderland is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We may change, pause or discontinue the site, prices or features. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for anything relating to the site is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept it. Changes don't apply retroactively to purchases you've already made.
